At Mitcham Thunder, we believe that YOU, the parent, should not have to spend your hard earned money buying equipment and uniforms only to find out that your child doesn’t like a sport.
That’s why we work hard fundraising so we can put on a Special Squad Clinic that doesn’t impact you financially.
We do ask you to pay $10 per term (less than $1 per week) to reserve your place, but when your child eventually enrolls to play in a team, any money you have spent on registration for our beginners program is discounted from your first season. So ultimately, it’s free.
How can we do it? The good people at Mitcham Dental love this initiative and are our major sponsor, and Rangeview Primary School also provide us with the venue free of charge.
Mitcham Thunder’s Junior Basketball Program offers a progressive path for all children aged 5-9 to learn and play basketball. Sessions are held Saturday mornings at Rangeview Primary School during school terms so come along and join in.
Our beginners program combines skills and training designed to help children learn the basics of dribbling, passing and shooting the ball, whilst also learning what it means to be part of a team.
